Pain...Suffering
I cut the driver side end of the cowl and found pain and suffering. The entire lower half is pretty much shot, rusted through, especially in the ends. After cleaning it up a little and reassessing, now I am in a very important crossroad; should I go all the way and just buy a new cowl set and replace the whole thing or just the corroded ends? I'd love to do the entire cowl, but my budget does not allow it. But I am sure about one thing; the lower cowl is totally beyond repair. There is no way I'd leave that thing there. I would not be happy with myself knowing what's in there after I start driving my car again.

CJ Ponyparts is having a sheetmetal sale. Right now they have the Cowl ends for $45 bucks a piece. My wife is going to kill me...but I must do what I must do...
UPDATE
Well, bought the cowl parts and they are on their way. It should be good...
Tomorrow to Pocono Raceway for the Pocono 400 and BBQ chops and chicken!
- Pocono Race was great! We had a blast on a sunny day. Joey Logano won. Congrats to the Home Depot Team.

Update:
While at the race I had 180 laps to think about all we did yesterday, cutting the upper cowl to expose the lower cowl horror... I've decided to complete one side before I do the other side (passenger), to use it as a learning experience. For example, I should have cut the upper cowl a couple of more inches towards the vents in order to have more room when welding the new repair patchpanels. I want to cut at little as possible, I don't wan't my car to start looking like Frankenstein!...
